The Goldsboro Police Department will host the 43rd annual National Night Out from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, at Herman Park. National Night Out is designed promote police–community partnerships, increase crime prevention awareness, encourage drug and violence prevention, and strengthen neighborhood unity. The event has been held annually nationwide since 1984. National Night Out is traditionally observed on the first Tuesday in August; however, some communities — particularly those in warmer climates — choose to hold their events on the first Tuesday in October. This event will include vendors, family-friendly activities, safety demonstrations, and opportunities for residents to connect with officers, volunteers, and community organizations.
